After my Week 06 meltdown, I felt the usual pang of fantasy misfortune that serves as the stick that keeps us setting our cineplexes up to reach the proverbial carrot: the Perfect Cineplex.

WEEK 07 BOX OFFICE BREAKDOWN

You didn’t need the brain of Ben Affleck’s title character to see the math behind the Week 07 perfect Cineplex:

Week 07 perfect Cineplex

Most weeks are a little harder to figure out, but with the Affleck/Kendrick action flick outperforming estimates and earning that Best Performer bonus, the rest was fill in the blanks.

I, however, did not see it coming. Middle School sits at 56% fresh on Rotten Tomatoes, with The Accountant at an even worse 49%. Perhaps this is the last grasp of the rotten films before heading into prestige season when audiences decide to see strong female-anchored character films and emotional period dramas…

…Except we all know that’s not true for Week 8. Stock up on as many screens of Boo! A Madea Halloween as you can afford, because the yet-to-be-reviewed comedy is sure to offer the best value this week. As for me, I believe Kevin Hart: What Now? will parlay it’s good review mojo into being the sleeper pick of the week.

If you’re feeling brave, anchor your cineplex with the new Jack Reacher sequel, which I’m pretty sure is a film nobody even asked for. At $378 dollars per screen, I can’t see how this one can offer more $ per Bux than Tyler Perry.

The real dark horse, in my opinion, is Keeping Up with The Joneses. Has America fallen out of love with Zach Galifianakis? Do we think Jon Hamm is more than just the Marlboro Man in a suit? Is Isla Fisher better than just a poor man’s Amy Adams? Well, none of that matters because I’m going to call it that it will not find it’s way into the Perfect Cineplex for week 8 with its inflated $126 price tag.

Before early reviews, here’s where my Cineplex sits:
