Turner Classic Tuesday — January 12-18, 2016

Each Tuesday Hunter highlights the best classic films airing in the coming week on TCM.

Just call this week’s lineup Hitchcock/Truffaut…and Neil Simon. Him too.

THIS WEEK’S PICKS

Saturday, January 16
I Confess from Alfred Hitchcock stars Montgomery Clift as a Priest who must violate the sanctity of the confessional to clear himself of murder. I’ve never seen it, so we’ll see what happens.

Sunday, January 17
One of the great screen comedy partnerships had a very odd beginning. Har, har, I’m priceless. But seriously, if you’ve only seen Grumpy Old Men, you should definitely see the first Jack Lemmon vs. Walter Matthau mashup, Neil Simon’s The Odd Couple

This is box title
When they say “art house foreign flick”, there’s a 56% chance they’re talking about Francois Truffaut’s Jules & Jim. Your cineaste forebears had to wait years to maybe see this at a college film appreciation event…all you have to do is hit “Record”. Who knows, you might enjoy yourself. It’s a pretty charming little film.

If you catch one of Hunter’s TCT picks share your thought with us on Twitter or Facebook!
