Each Tuesday Hunter highlights the best classic films airing in the coming week on TCM.
Happy 4th film fans, time to celebrate your Independence to drink beer and watch movies! Normally I celebrate the holiday by punching a British person in the face, but if that’s not your thing, you’ve got a magnificent lineup of movies to watch.
Each Tuesday Hunter highlights the best classic films airing in the coming week on TCM.
Our lineup this week is a mixed bag. While none quite makes it to the summit of “essential viewing”, each is a worthy trophy any movie buff should be proud to hang on their wall.
or: If You Can Train a Falcon, You Can Train a Raptor
Chris and Hunter get geeky (no really, it’s scary) in their review of the blockbuster franchise revival, Jurassic World, and Chris sustains his spree of summer beer selections for you to sip in the cinema. In Special Features, the dudes debate the resolution – “Should Sequels Have New Directors?” Listen in awe as Hunter nerds out on dino-knowledge, Mad Max sings cowboy tunes, and Chris reveals his secret affinity for The Land Before Time series.
or: Come for the Easy Rider, Stay for the Ritual Circumcision
Hunter has disappeared off the face of the Earth, so Chris’s bayou-bestie, Jacob Graves, stops by for a better-late-than-never review of Mad Max: Fury Road, Chris interviews musician-turned-filmmaker Beau Jennings about his new film The Verdigris: In Search of Will Rogers, and the dudes basically just list off a bunch of movie characters cursed with ambition in Special Features.
Apologies for the sound quality throughout this episode. In deciding to do a last minute remote recording with Jacob we ran into a few technical issues.

So I was reviewing TCM’s schedule this week, and all of the movies that spoke to me were directed by John Huston. And then John Huston (well, his ghost) would probably backhand me for saying “spoke to me” like some hippie, then sip straight whisky, shoot an elephant, and father a bunch of children.
