Turner Classic Tuesday — October 6-12, 2015

Each Tuesday Hunter highlights the best classic films airing in the coming week on TCM.

Who’s Afraid of Virginia Woolf? Certainly not Buster Keaton, who so far as the cinematic record is concerned wasn’t afraid a’nuthin’. Also, Robert Osborne classes the joint up as only he can.

THIS WEEK’S PICKS

Wednesday, October 07
Who’s Afraid of Virginia Woolf? is one of my War Crimes, but that doesn’t mean it has to be one of yours. Starring the twice-married Elizabeth Taylor-Richard Burton (whose romance thankfully predated modern times, lest it be called, what…”Turton”? “Baylor”? “Lizard”?), and directed by Mike Nichols in his film debut.
Friday, October 09
The General is the masterpiece of Buster Keaton, the stone-faced silent comic who was one of the most creative comedians not just of his time, but ALL TIME! You’ll definitely want to check this out – Buster could do stuff even CGI can’t do.
Sunday, October 11
I’ve never seen this, don’t really know what it is, or why it’s on at midnight for crying out loud, but you should definitely DVR Robert Osborne’s 20th Anniversary Tribute because he is just the coolest.

If you catch one of Hunter’s TCT picks share your thought with us on Twitter or Facebook!
