Turner Classic Tuesday — February 2-8, 2016

Each Tuesday Hunter highlights the best classic films airing in the coming week on TCM.

A drunken Paul Newman fights for justice. A wide-eyed Katharine Hepburn fights for her Broadway dreams. And Clark Gable fights for the scoop of the century!

THIS WEEK’S PICKS

<strong>Tuesday, Feb. 2</strong>
The Verdict. This…movie…is…AWESOME! Seriously. It’s Paul Newman as a drunk off his rocker ambulance chaser doing jurisprudence jousting with a silver-tongued James Mason. Oh, and it’s directed by Sidney Lumet. And it’s written by David Mamet. Oh, and Jack Warden is in it too.
<strong>Thursday, Feb. 4</strong>
Stage Door is a forgotten little gem about a theatrical boarding house with a sorority of hopefuls who dream of Broadway stardom. It’s stars Katharine Hepburn, Ginger Rogers, and features a pre-I Love Lucy performance from Lucille Ball.
<strong>Friday,</strong> <strong>Feb. 5</strong>
It Happened One Night is the film about a runaway heiress ran away with the Oscars – including trophies for Best Picture, Actor, Actress,  Director and Screenplay. Not many films have done that, most because not many films star Clark Gable and Claudette Colbert being directed by Frank Capra…that usually helps.

If you catch one of Hunter’s TCT picks share your thought with us on Twitter or Facebook!
