THE REASON
I’m downright amazed at the number of people who haven’t seen this film. If it ever comes up in conversation it always seems to be n the context of its place as Steven Soderbergh’s swan song in the cinema, and that’s a damn shame. This isn’t one of the many “lesserpiece” experiments we received cinema’s greatest jack of all trades. Mr. Soderbergh exited the movie biz with a satisfying bang.
Side Effects is a little dirty and a lot of fun. Rooney Mara and Jude Law carry this tense thriller with the backing of a nice ensemble cast — including Channing Tatum in a surprisingly solid dramatic performance. Watch it right now on Netflix, because I know you still haven’t seen it.
